The 102nd Regiment of Foot (Royal Madras Fusiliers) was an infantry regiment, originally raised by the British East India Company and absorbed by the British Army in 1862. It was combined with the 103rd Regiment of Foot in 1881 to form the Royal Dublin Fusiliers. ==East India Company Regiments== Between the years of 1746 and 1830 the Honorable East India Company European Regiment looked after that organisation's interests in British Colonial India. The regiment was renamed HEIC Madras European Regiment in 1830, the HEIC 1st Madras Europeans in 1839, and the HEIC 1st Madras European Fusiliers in 1843. Between the years 1858 and 1861, following the uprising commonly known as the Indian Mutiny, the regiment was taken into the British Army as the 1st Madras European Fusiliers regiment.
